American-Made Precision Monopods

Accu-Shot® Monopods

An Accu-Shot monopod gives the rear of your rifle the same steady, adjustable support a bipod gives the front. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodize, these are the same rear supports adopted by military units and competitive long-range shooters. Every model folds out of the way instantly and adjusts height on the fly with the Quick-Knob (QK). Introduced in 2000 and patented, the Accu-Shot is the original rear monopod for the rifle, built in the USA with a no-fine-print lifetime warranty.

What a rear monopod does for your rifle

A bipod stabilizes the front; a rear monopod locks in the elevation at the back. Together they create a four-point support system that holds your point of impact without muscle tension. At the shot, you stay on target for follow-through and fast follow-up shots. For solo prone hunters, a rear monopod replaces the rear sandbag and lets you fine-tune elevation in seconds instead of scooping dirt.

Find your Accu-Shot: Which mount does your rifle use?

Every Accu-Shot performs the same job. The difference is how it attaches. Pick the category that matches your buttstock or chassis:

  • Precision Rail Mount (PRM): Your buttstock or chassis has a 1913 Picatinny rail at the rear. This is the most common setup on precision rifles and modern chassis. Adapters available for CAR, Magpul ACS/STR, Sako TRG, ACE, SIG CROSS, and KRG 10/22 stocks. BT12-QK, BT13-QK, BT31-QK. NSN issued: 1005-01-678-1553.
  • Sling-Stud Mount: Your stock has a traditional rear sling stud, typical of hunting, target, and legacy stocks. No rail required. BT01-QK, BT04-QK (with positive lock), BT05-QK (mid), BT06-QK (extended).
  • Accuracy International (AI/AT): You run an AI, AW, AICS Legacy, or Accuracy Tactical/AT Chassis. These use the dedicated AI spigot interface. BT08-QK (ASAI) for classic AI stocks; BT57-QK for AT Chassis Gen2.

Height options at a glance

Standard, Mid, and Extended heights cover most shooting positions and buttstock designs. Match the height so the monopod reaches the ground with the buttstock level when your bipod is deployed.

  • Standard: ~3.5 to 4.65 inches elevation. Best when the buttstock sits low, such as hunting-weight stocks and some chassis with a low cheek piece.
  • Mid: ~4.8 to 5.85 inches. The most versatile choice for AR-pattern and most chassis stocks at prone.
  • Extended: ~5.7 to 6.85 inches. For stocks with a high adjustable comb or when shooting from a higher surface.
  • Optional Tac-Cap (BT07): Steel cap accessory adds tactile grip and weight for extra stability. Compatible with all QK models.

Mounting and compatibility

All Accu-Shot monopods are machined 6061-T6 aluminum, Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodized Class 2. They fold flat against the buttstock when not needed, add no significant snag, and deploy with one hand.

  • PRM models bolt to any 1913 Picatinny rail. Stock adapters (BT26/BT29/BT51/BT52/BT78/BT84) extend compatibility to CAR, Sako TRG, Magpul ACS, Magpul STR, ACE, SIG CROSS, and KRG 10/22 stocks.
  • Sling-stud models replace or attach alongside the existing rear sling stud. No drilling or machining required.
  • AI/AT models use the dedicated spigot interface already present on Accuracy International and compatible chassis. No adapters needed.
  • The optional steel Tac-Cap (BT07, $9.95) threads onto any QK model for added traction and weight at the muzzle end of support.

The Accu-Shot Monopods lineup gives you several options. These answers cover how the options compare, which option to choose, and warranty coverage so you can narrow it down quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a rifle monopod do?

A rear monopod supports the back of the rifle, holding elevation so you can make fine adjustments without muscle tension. Paired with a bipod at the front, it creates a stable four-point platform that keeps your point of impact consistent through a shot string.

Do I need both a monopod and a bipod?

For serious prone precision work, yes. The bipod handles front support and cant; the monopod controls rear elevation. For casual hunting or field positions, a monopod alone can substitute for a rear bag.

What height monopod should I choose?

Match the height so the foot reaches the ground with the buttstock level when the bipod legs are deployed. Most modern chassis rifles work best with Mid; lower traditional stocks often fit Standard; rifles with adjustable high combs may need Extended.

How does the Quick-Knob (QK) work?

The QK is a large-diameter knurled knob that adjusts the monopod's height without tools. You spin it with your support hand to dial elevation on target fast between shots.

PRM vs sling-stud: which do I need?

Use the PRM if your buttstock or chassis has a rear rail. Use the sling-stud model if your stock has a traditional sling swivel stud and no rail. If you are unsure, look at the underside of your buttstock near the toe: a rail looks like a slotted aluminum bar; a sling stud is a single round knob.

Are Accu-Shot monopods made in the USA?

Yes. Every Accu-Shot is machined and assembled in the USA by B&T Industries, the company that invented and patented the rear rifle monopod in 2000.

What is the warranty?

Accu-Shot monopods carry a no-fine-print lifetime warranty. There are no exclusions for hard use, competition, or military service.

Can I use a monopod for hunting?

Yes. A rear monopod is lighter than a rear bag, packs flat against the stock, and lets you quickly dial in elevation for a steady ethical shot, particularly useful on western prone hunts.
