Find your PRM: Which height fits your setup?

All three models mount identically. Choose height based on how far the buttstock sits off the ground when your bipod is deployed at prone:

  • BT12-QK Standard ($99.95): Elevation 3.75 to 4.65 inches. Best for lower-profile stocks, some folding stocks, and benches where the rifle sits close to the surface. This is the NSN-issued model (1005-01-678-1553).
  • BT13-QK Mid ($104.95): Elevation 4.8 to 5.85 inches. The most popular choice for AR-pattern stocks, most precision chassis rifles, and standard prone position.
  • BT31-QK Extended ($109.95): Elevation 5.7 to 6.85 inches. For chassis with a high adjustable comb, tall buttpads, or elevated shooting positions.
  • BT12-QK-FDE ($159.95): Standard height in Flat Dark Earth finish. Same specs as BT12-QK; choose FDE to match your rifle's color.

Stock adapters: PRM on non-rail stocks

If your stock does not have a built-in rear rail, these adapter kits add a Picatinny mounting point so you can run a PRM monopod:

  • BT26 CAR Adaptor: For CAR/M4 collapsible stocks.
  • BT29 Sako TRG Rail Kit: Adds a rail to the Sako TRG buttstock.
  • BT51 ACE Bracket: For ACE-pattern folding stocks.
  • BT52 ACS/STR Picatinny Rail Adapter: For Magpul ACS and STR buttstock variants.
  • BT78 SIG CROSS Buttstock Rail Kit: For SIG SAUER CROSS rifles.
  • BT84 KRG 10/22 Bravo Rail Kit: For KRG Bravo chassis in 10/22 configuration.

Mounting and compatibility

PRM monopods clamp directly to any 1913 Mil-Spec Picatinny rail. The rail slot spacing (0.394-inch) is standard, so any compliant rail accepts them without shimming. Tighten the clamp bolt to spec: snug, not torqued. The monopod folds forward flat against the stock for carry and deploys with a single hand at prone.

  • Compatible out of the box with any 1913 Picatinny rail on a buttstock or chassis.
  • Use stock adapter kits (BT26/BT29/BT51/BT52/BT78/BT84) if your stock lacks a rear rail.
  • The optional Tac-Cap (BT07, $9.95) threads onto the foot for added grip and weight.
  • Mil-Spec Type III hardcoat anodize resists corrosion and wear under sustained hard use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a precision rail mount (PRM) monopod?

A PRM monopod mounts to the 1913 Picatinny rail on the rear of a buttstock or chassis. It provides a solid, repeatable rear support point that adjusts for elevation with the Quick-Knob.

Which model is NSN-issued?

The BT12-QK (Standard height PRM) is issued under NSN 1005-01-678-1553.

My chassis has an integrated rail. Will the PRM fit?

Yes, if it is a standard 1913 Picatinny rail. Verify the slot width is 0.206-inch and spacing is 0.394-inch. Most precision chassis use standard Picatinny.

Do I need a stock adapter?

Only if your buttstock does not have a rear rail. B&T offers adapters for common non-rail stocks including CAR, Magpul ACS/STR, Sako TRG, ACE, SIG CROSS, and KRG 10/22.

Standard vs mid vs extended: how do I decide?

Lie prone in your normal shooting position with the bipod deployed. Measure from the ground to the underside of the buttstock near the toe. Standard fits roughly 3.75 to 4.65 inches; Mid fits 4.8 to 5.85; Extended fits 5.7 to 6.85. When in doubt, Mid is the most versatile starting point for chassis rifles.

Is the FDE version any different mechanically?

No. The BT12-QK-FDE is identical to the BT12-QK in every specification except the Flat Dark Earth anodize color.

What warranty do PRM monopods carry?

A no-fine-print lifetime warranty. No exclusions, no registration required.
